Keep this manual as it contains installation and maintenance instructions. This product is designed to work for a long period of time. In order to use and maintain the product in optimal operating conditions, it is necessary to keep the manual.

      An easy-to-use heat pump

      Heat pump TMC HYPER-JET Use as a primary source of heat capture the circuit with a deep, horizontal collector or groundwater using the captured energy to heat your building. The heat pump can be connected to the building's heating system as well as to a domestic hot water boiler. 

Important!

When delivering and installing the product, carefully check the following important points:

Transport

The product must be transported and stored in vertical position .

To avoid impact during transport, do not unpack the product until it reaches the room and the place where you want to mount it.

The heat pump can be operated with a forklift or manually, with special care.

Unpacking

 

Unpack the heat pump only after bringing it close to the area where it will be installed. Check that the product has been hit during transport. Report any wear and tear caused by the transport of the contracted supplier.

Safety instructions

          Heat pump installation options TMC HYPER-JET

          The heat pump can be installed to serve both the heating and cooling air conditioning system of the house as well as one or more boilers for domestic hot water heating.

          The heat pump can be connected to a primary heat source such as the collector circuit vertical in deep, serpentine horizontallyle or groundwater using the captured energy to air-condition your property and produce domestic hot water.

 Location of the heat pump

The heat pump must be located above ground level for operation. Remember that , the compressor may generate noise during operation similar or lower than the noise produced by a washing machine .

Control panel

It is located behind the cover, in the service area of ​​the heat pump.

The command and control elements can only be accessed by an authorized person.

             The heat pump is started from the button on the front of the housing.

   Use and maintenance of the product

Stopping the pump

The heat pump stops with the help the thermostat mounted by your installer on the outside of the heat pump or disconnects from the power supply.

             Troubleshooting / Appropriate measurements

             - Heat pump TMC HYPER-JET It is designed to automatically allow various operating parameters to enjoy the desired comfort and having a long service life. Below are suggestions to help you avoid malfunctioning the product.

 

             - If an error occurs, you must contact the authorized installer who installed the product and if he concludes that it is a technical error in the operation of the product then he will contact us. owill fix the error. Always prepare the factory code of the product.

 

             - If an error occurs, the indicator light from the power button will be turned off  , in which case please contact the authorized installer / electrician who installed the product, who will check the supply voltage to be correct, the water supply from the drilling (check the pump to work and the suction or filters to be clean) or the coil circuit be at the flow rate specified by the manufacturer (the pump is functional and correctly dimensioned), the recirculation pump for the heat circuit must not be defective or be undersized,         

             - If the pump is in the off state and the green indicator is lit, it means that the stop command was given by one of the external sensors mounted for the control and control of temperatures in the building or the domestic hot water boiler.

If there is a background noise in the pump, check that it has been completely vented. Add water if necessary to reach the appropriate pressure, ie between 1.5 and 3 bar. If it still sounds, call an installer to check the entire circuit.

The heat pump is equipped with a compressor shut-off system which is triggered in the event of an electrical overload.

The cause of such an error can be:

Product installation

This chapter is dedicated to those who are qualified to install the product (authorized installer / electrician) so that the TMC HYPER heat pump-JET to function properly to the parameters required by the owner. However, the user has all the necessary information in this manual to be able to understand si use the purchased product correctly.

Hydraulic and electrical connections:

Hydraulic connection

The installation of the product must be carried out carefully taking into account the installation standards and the building plan. The product must be connected to an expansion vessel in a closed system except for the groundwater circuit. Remember to clean the rust radiators and other debris before mounting.

             Complete all installation / adjustment steps according to the description in the installation chapter "Commissioning the product".

The heat pump can operate with temperatures up to approximately 50 ° C on the return and returns to the circuit (flow) maximum temperatures of 55 ° C for short periods of time (1-3 hours for boiler water heating) and the continuous operating temperature ( normal) of the heat pump must not exceed 40 degrees celsius per return and 45 degrees celsius per flow heat.

The TMC HYPER-JET heat pump does not malfunction at higher return temperatures, but stops the compressor repeatedly and can affect the life of the compressor.

Circulation pump

             The circulation pump (minimum recommended 32-8) for the heating medium or for the brine circuit or for the groundwater must be dimensioned so that it can ensure a difference in tethe temperature of the thermal agent between flow and return between 3 and 7 degrees celsius to ensure optimal operation of the heat pump.

             Make sure that a sufficiently large circulation pump has been fitted so as to provide the heat pump with sufficient heat. We recommend a Wilo, Grundfos or Pedrollo pump, which are suitable for most heating systems.

Location of the heat pump

 The primary circuit

To use the heat pump at maximum performance, a suitable heat sink must be used. flow agentcommunity thermal (deep, horizontal collector source or groundwater) must not be lower than whatl presented in the table with technical data

                Brine circuit connection (coils or probes)

            The installation and connection of the circuit with vertical probes or with a horizontal collector must be carried out by an authorized installer, in accordance with all the rules for carrying out the installation. Be very careful not to get dirt on the piping system, which must be perfectly clean when connecting the circuit to the heating system. Protect the piping, by installing covers, against the penetration of impurities, during the whole period of the installation.

To allow service to be performed on the heat pump, the shut-off valves must be fitted both on the flow and on the return connection when the pump and the brine circuit are connected. Install bifurcation valves / valves to be able to fill and vent the collector circuit, independently by heat pump.

The collectors can be vertical probes or horizontal coils.

If vertical probes , their total depth will be at least 1,2 times the surface of the house, ie for a 100sqm house insulated with 10cm polystyrene and windows with 3 bottles, the probes must have at least 120ml, this total depth can be even greater depending on the degree of insulation of the building. We recommend that the probes be made with 32mm PN10 polyethylene pipe and loaded with glycol.

If horizontal coils , their total length will be at least 3 times the surface of the house, ie in a 100sqm house insulated with 10cm polystyrene and windows with 3 bottles, the coils must have a minimum of 300ml, this length can be even longer depending on the degree of insulation of the building. The land area on which the serpentines will be installed, we recommend it to be at least double the surface of the house, ie at a house of 100sqm, we need at least 200sqm of land for the installation of serpentines. We recommend that the coils be made with 32mm PN6 polyethylene pipe and loaded with glycol under a pressure of at least 2bar before being covered with earth to avoid strangulation due to the weight of the earth. We recommend the coils to have a length of 50-100ml each, to be as equal as possible and connected to a distributor in the technical room or in an underground fireplace, to be positioned round the edge on the ditch (the ditch should be 50-60cm wide) and the recommended depth is between 150 and 200 cm. If the land is on a slope then the distributor should be located at the top of the land in order to achieve proper ventilation of the coils. The coils will be placed on one level to ensure maximum efficiency.

Insulation against condensation

 

You must insulate the entire primary circuit from condensation,otherwise, ice will form on the circuit or drops of condensation.

Filling and venting the brine circuit

 

Stir in water distilled with antifreeze in an open container so that it can withstand up to -20 degrees without freezing.

The pipes must have a diameter of 32 gold wire.

 

Connect a powerful external filling pump to perform filling and venting. Then open the valves so that the liquid can flow through the open vessel.

Allow the heating medium to flow through the system for a period of time until the air is removed. However, it is possible that there is still air in the installation, even if it does not come out at all at the time of ventilation.

Vent the level vessel by removing the stopper from the top of the tank.

 

            You can now turn off the valves and allow the recirculation pump to continue to operate and then stop the filling pump.

            The external filling pump will increase the pressure in the system when opening the filling valves.

            A vent must be mounted on the manifold, as they may appeara air bubbles.

            Always check the filter when filling and venting the circuit with thermal agent.

Checking the brine circuit after installation

 

After a few days, check pressure liquidcommunity from facility . Fill in if necessary.

Level vessel

The level vessel must be mounted on the tour of the brine installation at the highest point. Note that the vessel may condense. Install the safety valve / valve and fit a plug at the top of the tank.

 

The brine liquid

The brine liquid circulates in a closed system. The liquid consists of water and antifreeze solution , recommended based on ethanol. The percentage of alcohol in the mixture must be slightly below 30%, which will lead to a class 2b fire risk and a freezing point of approximately -20° C.

 

            Air bubbles

            To avoid air bubbles in the system, make sure that the required amount of liquid rises to the pump through the manifold. If this does not happen, it may be necessary to ventilate the installation at its highest points. The filling pump generally withstands small differences in the amount of liquid.

Checking the temperature differences in the brine circuit

 

When the heat pump is running, check frequently that the temperature difference between flow and return is not too large. If there is a difference of more than 5 degrees, this may be due to the existence of air in the circuit, a clogged filter or an undersized recirculation pump. If this is the cause, then the heat pump it will stop automatically.

Electric instalation

Electrical installation and installation of heat pumps must be carried out

by an authorized electrician. All cable connections must be made according to the rules and regulations in the field.

Power source

 

     TMC HYPER heat pump-JET must be connected to 230V or 380V , uninterruptible power supply , protected with earth and a voltage stabilizer in case the supply voltage variation is greater than +/- 3%. 

     At the rear, the heat pump is equipped with a plug and socket that can be connected to an uninterruptible power supply UPS to keep the heat pump on standby if power outages occur.

Safety switch

 

The electrical system must contain a safety switch for complete power failure.

IMPORTANT

The heat pump has maximum efficiency and low consumption when:

- temperature of the thermal agent (radiator / floor/ Fan ) is as low as possible and the water / soil temperature is as high as possible,

- the temperature difference between flow and return should be between 3 and 7 degrees Celsius

             - the insulation of all contact surfaces of the building with the exterior should be as good as possible (equivalent to a polystyrene of at least 5 cm)

             - the radiant surfaces (radiator, floor, fan coil units, etc.) to be as large as possible so so that the temperature of the thermal agent (35-45 degrees celsius per flow) sa be sufficient to heat the building.

             - The period of service and verification of the heat pump for keeping the warranty periods, ie the verification and replacement if necessary of the refrigerant, oil and filter must not exceed 3 calendar years regardless of the type of warranty.

The 3-way valve (7) from the green circuit and the recirculation pump (18) will be supplied from the automation of the solar panel.

 

RECOMMENDATIONS:

-Recirculation pumps must be at least 32-8 (connection 32, pressure 0.8bar), Pedrollo JSW1C or stronger  (to have fixed debt ) and be set to maximum speed.

-For the extraction of water from drilling where the hydrodynamic level (the level from where the water does not decrease in drilling after at least 2 hours of operation of the water pump) is less than or equal to 5ml, it is recommended to use a surface water pump as follows:

= for an 8-12kw heat pump (Pedrollo JSW1B or other similar models),

= for an 18 kw heat pump (Pedrollo JSW1A or other similar models),

= for a 22kw heat pump (Pedrollo JSWM2A or other similar models)

-For the extraction of water from the drilling where the hydrodynamic level (the level from where the water does not decrease after at least 2 hours of operation of the water pump) is higher than 5ml and lower than 25ml, it is recommended to use a Pedrollo submersible water pump 4block 2/9 or other similar models and if the hydrodynamic level exceeds 25ml, call the specialists Termocasa for personalized recommendations.

-3-way valve TMC it can be mounted both on the tour and on the return because we have temperatures below 60 degrees .

     

-Twishes or returns from pumps heat (if there are 2 or more) nu more than one heat pump is connected to the same buffer connection , the tour connects to the top connection and the return to the bottom of the buffer.

-The supply voltage must be  230v or 380v (230v on each phase) both when starting the heat pump and during operation with a tolerance of +/- 5%.

-Before starting the heat pump, the circuits must be checked for leaksti closed valves or 3-way valve not to be locked in a position to  block the passage of the thermal agent.

-At the first start of the heat pump it is recommended to use a normal socket to supply the recirculation pump and the ground water pump and after setting the thermostats (boiler and buffer), the pumps to be supplied from the socket mounted on the heat pump housing .

-Temperature difference between flow (hot outlet ) and return (warm entrance ) should be about 5 degrees.

-Temperature difference between flow (cold exit) and return (cold entry ) should be about 5 degrees.

-For accurate temperature measurement a non-contact thermometer and the reading will be performed on metal surfaces previously covered with an electrical insulating tape or non-reflective paint.

-Before the entry of water from the borehole into the heat pump it is necessary to install 2 directional valves (in the case of submersible pumps, a directional valve will be mounted right at the exit of the water pump) and a impurity filter (with washable cartridge) or if the washable cartridge filter needs to be cleaned weekly or more often, a pool sand filter will be used.

-The heat pump exchangers from the moment of starting use must be constantly immersed in water / liquid, otherwise there is a risk of damage and even cracking.

-For verification (simplest method) dEBITui water from drilling , a 10 liter bucket is placed at the exit of the heat pump and the filling time of the bucket can be approximately :

-12 seconds (+/- 2 seconds) for a 22kw pump

-15 seconds (+/- 2 seconds) for a 18kw pump

-18 seconds (+/- 2 seconds) for a 12kw pump

-For checking the groundwater if it has permeability and sufficient water, the following method will be applied:

 Pleave a 10 liter bucket  at the exit water from hydrophore or submersible pump and from a tap adjust the flow so that the time the bucket is filled be about :

-12 seconds (+/- 2 seconds) for a 22kw pump

-15 seconds (+/- 2 seconds) for a 18kw pump

-18 seconds (+/- 2 seconds) for a 12kw pump

Let the water flow at the flows mentioned above for a period of 48 hours and if the drilling / well does not dry then it results that it has a groundwater good enough for the heat pump. This method has worked so far for all customers.

-Surface of the boiler coil must be a minimum of:

--2,5sqm for a 22kw pump,

--2,1sqm for a 18kw pump, 

--1,8sqm for a 12kw pump

-The hydraulic connections are made of 32mm PPR pipe and you must have a safety valve of maximum 3 bar installed on the two circuits.

-The pressure drop in the heat exchangers, which must be taken into account when sizing the drilling or recirculation pumps is between 1 and 1,5 bar.

-If no buffer is used, check dtemperature difference between flow (hot outlet ) and return (warm entrance )  and if it is greater than  5 degrees due to the undersizing of the home heating system, a stronger recirculation pump or a hydrophore pump will be used on the return, if necessary.

-In case of using radiators / radiators / fan coil units, they must have 1kw nominal power for every 3-5sqm of heated building, ie in a room of 20sqm you need 4-6kw (nominal power).

Putting into service

1) Check the voltage power supply:

- in the case of single-phase heat pumps, the supply voltage must be between 220 and 240V and must not have fluctuations of more than 3V when starting the heat pump.

- in the case of three-phase heat pumps, the supply voltage on each of the three phases must be between 220 and 240V and must not have fluctuations greater than 3V at the start of the heat pump and the sequence of phases must be correct so as to illuminate the LED green at the voltage monitoring relay inside the heat pump.

2) In the case of heat pumps supplied with water by a submersible pump, to have mandatory 2 directional valves or flaps at the water inlet to the heat pump.

3) There shall be no flaps, flow valves, undersized valves or filters to block the flow of the recirculation pump on the heating circuit between the heat pump and the buffer or building.

4) The connection of the heat pump to the buffer must be made at the upper and lower end according to the drawings in the installation manual.

5) Temperature difference between flow (hot outlet ) and return (warm entrance ) should be about 5 degrees , dtemperature difference between flow (cold exit) and return (cold entry ) should be about 5 degrees.

6) The temperature set on the thermostats for the boiler or puffer for starters must not exceed 50 degrees Celsius.
